CA Oil & Gas Middle East has a opening for a Project Manager (Rigid Pipelay specialist)This position is based in the UAE – Sharjah.

To be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, goals and objectives.
Specific Accountabilities

  • lead the planning and implementation of project
  • facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, objectives and deliverables
  • define project tasks and resource requirements
  • develop full scale project plans
  • assemble and coordinate project staff
  • manage project budget
  • manage project resource allocation
  • plan and schedule project timelines
  • track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • provide direction and support to project team
  • Ensure satisfactory HSE performance during the project
  • Ensure visible management commitment to HSE and stimulate a high level of HSE awareness on the Project
  • ensure correct and safe work practices are followed at all times
  • set budget and allocate adequate resources for HSE activities including training
  • set HSE KP1’s for the project and report HSE performance against these indicators
  • process owner of the HSE Plan
  • ensure documented HSE plans are prepared by contractors / other project participants
  • quality assurance
  • constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • project evaluations and assessment of results
  • stakeholder management

  • Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system in compliance with ISO 9001.
  • Responsible for personal safety and for ensuring work is undertaken using safe working practices. Undertaking work in accordance with company HSE procedures.

  • Strong management and engineering skills in the offshore oil and gas industry – in particular offshore construction and rigid pipelay experience
  • Demonstrated capabilities in leadership, interpersonal relationships and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven negotiation skills, with the ability to negotiate skillfully and win concessions without damaging relationships in challenging situations.
  • Proven ability to stay calm in stressful situations and to cope effectively with conflicting deadlines/demands.
  • Proven ability and willingness to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Proven planning skills, with the ability to systematically breakdown and prioritise complex work activities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse cultural environment.
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • Direct work experience in project management capacity
  • Proven experience in strategic planning

Relevant engineering degree
Approx. 10 years+ relevant technical, commercial and leadership experience, preferably gained in offshore construction industry.
